Colorful Symmetry- Abstract visions and concepts

The world we live in and the senses that allow us to experience it, should truly be appreciated. Be it an attribute of evolution or the creation of a higher being, we must consider our ability to explore our reality with these complex and valuable tools. To not hear the sweet lyrics sung by Lauren Hill, nor to taste a delicious meal specially prepared for you. Granted, there are many in this world that may lack one or more of the five senses and have found ways to compensate and we should commend them on finding a balance. We should also acknowledge that there are many perceptions, some with symmetry and some abstract none the less, we perceive the world in our own ways.

According to Regina Bailey, author of “The five senses and how they work” December 12, 2017. “The ways we understand and perceive the world around us as humans are known as senses. We have five traditional senses known as taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight. The stimuli from each sensing organ in the body is relayed to different parts of the brain through various pathways. Sensory information is transmitted from the peripheral nervous system to the central nervous system. A structure of the brain called the thalamus receives most sensory signals and passes them along to the appropriate area of the cerebral cortex to be processed. Sensory information regarding smell however, is sent directly to the olfactory bulb and not to the thalamus. Visual information is processed in the visual cortex of the occipital lobe, sound is processed in the auditory cortex of the temporal lobe, smells are processed in the olfactory cortex of the temporal lobe, touch sensations are processed in the somatosensory cortex of the parietal lobe, and taste is processed in the gustatory cortex in the parietal lobe.”

Such complexities Take place in order to grasp the simplicity of your view of the world and those of others. It further draws importance to the expressionism of Art, as at the core of it all is a compilation of the senses gathered together to manifest as one. Creating can both be a beautiful and chaotic according to the perception of the one creating and the witness of the creation.
